Change Advanced power settings : Power Options

With Power options you can also access advance settings for turn off hard disk after specific time, Desktop background settings, Sleep time, PCI Express, Processor power management, Display off time, Battery notifications.

Edit and Change advanced power options

  • Press Windows+R Key and Type “Control” and Press Enter
  • Select “System and Security” then In Power Options Select “Change Battery Settings”
  • Select “Change advanced power settings”
  • You can either create a new plan and change all settings or change settings for existing plan
  • Advanced Power Settings options are –
    • Hard Disk -> Turn off hard disk After Minutes while computer is “On Battery” or “Plugged in”
    • Desktop Background Settings->Slide Show should be paused or Available while computer is “On Battery” or “Plugged in”
    • Sleep:
      • Sleep After minutes while computer is “On Battery” or “Plugged in”
      • Allow Wake timer “Enable” or “Disable” while computer is “On Battery” or “Plugged in”
    • PCI Express->Link State Power Management “off”, “Moderate Power Savings”, Maximum Power Saving” while computer is “On Battery” or “Plugged in”.
    • Processor Power Management:
      • Minimum Processor State % while computer is “On Battery” or “Plugged in”
      • Maximum Processor State % while computer is “On Battery” or “Plugged in”
    • Display->turn Off Display after in minute while computer is “On Battery” or “Plugged in”
    • Change Battery Notifications Settings – Critical battery notification, Critical battery action, Low Battery Level, Critical Battery Level, Low Battery Notification, Low Battery Action, Reserve Battery level
